Kendrick Law, 4-star athlete, commits to Alabama over LSU

Alabama dipped into Louisiana and added the 14th top-100 prospect to its 2022 recruiting class when Kendrick Law picked the Crimson Tide over LSU on Friday.

Law, from Captain Shreve High in Shreveport, is the No. 87 overall prospect and the No. 3 athlete in the nation in the 247Sports Composite. The four-star recruit, who also took official visits to Texas and Florida State, played running back, wide receiver and defensive back throughout his high school career.

Alabama’s class now includes 24 commitments and ranks second nationally behind Texas A&M. Earlier Friday, four-star tight end Jaleel Skinner flipped from Alabama to Miami.

What is Alabama getting in Law?

Aaron Suttles, Alabama beat writer: Law brings some things to Alabama’s 2022 recruiting class that actually defines it: speed and versatility. Speed was the defining characteristic of this class, and Law doesn’t take away from that. He put up solid numbers during his track career.

He’s also an athlete who could play on either side of the ball. Nick Saban has a long history of letting an athlete choose at the beginning where he wants to play, and all indication is that Law wants to be on offense.
